This is a photo from the set of my latest project, "Action Girl." I'm playing a crime fighter in an independent short film, written and directed by Dave Tozin. We have been having a blast filming this movie and are close to completion. Only the major fight scene left to shoot! I have a few more rehearsals to really nail my jump kick and leg sweep, so hopefully all will go smoothly!

"Motel" has arrived!

Come see our show! Please buy your tickets online ahead of time, as we expect to sell out!

A Note on the Process:
These pieces have been rehearsed much as one would do in a scene study class. Actors and directors worked on their own, then brought the pieces into the workshop to present to the group. Rather than creating the feel of "too many chefs in the kitchen," it served as a way to gauge audience reaction - what works? What doesn't read? It also served as a way of sharing the success and failure of different directing exercises. Working on this show, I was reminded of how much I appreciate true collaboration. Michael Kingsbaker has successfully established a group of actors, writers, and directors who care about the craft of theatre. Thanks for the Shelter, Mike!

Rehearsing "All my Sons"

"I don't know what I'm doing, where I'm going; I don't know how I feel about what's going on or the people around me; and I don't know how I'm going to get what I want!!!"

"Isn't that exactly where she's supposed to be in this moment?"

"Oh...right. Ok, I'm ready to start the scene again."

Frustrating, yet rewarding moments. Thanks cast mates!

Shelter workshop

I am currently involved with a great community of actors, writers and directors at the Shelter Theatre Workshop. We meet once a week for 4 hours to workshop monologues, scenes, cold readings for auditions, new plays, and anything else we can think of. It's a place to feel safe and work on our craft. I am feeling particularly grateful for this safe haven and am thrilled by the work coming out of it! We are putting up a showcase in May. There will be 9 original pieces all taking place in a motel room. I hope you can make it!
